5Greatest racing game ever made...Mar 06, 2005
By Disintegration
Yeah, it's an old game for Super Nintendo, but it's the greatest racing game ever made in my opinion. I think the graphics are very impressive for its time, and it is blazing fast for a SNES racer. The music is also fantastic techno, the best music i've heard in a racing game, and better than most games in general. The vehicles are pretty cool, each having advantages and disadvantages. There are many difficulty settings, and many courses depending on the difficulty setting you chose. Beating the game on the hardest difficulty can be extremely difficult, especially at the later courses. The only rip I have on this game is that it should have been two players, and after you beat it so many times/ beat it on the hardest settings, it gets old (I played it non stop before i mastered it, now it isn't nearly as entertaining.) But for when it came out, it is definitely a classic, and to this day I think it is the best racing game ever.

4Futuristic Racing Takes Off!Jul 09, 2009
By Chris Greninger "Sir Chops-A-Lot_1"
F-Zero is a fast-paced racing game set in the future...the 26th Century. This game was released for the SNES around the same time as Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart. There are four hovercars to choose from: blue, yellow, green, and magenta. They have names such as the Blue Falcon, Golden Fox, etc. Each car has different capabilities with top speed, acceleration speed, steering, braking, and boosting. There are three racing leagues: Knight, Queen, and King. In each league, there are five race courses, and five laps around the track completes the course. Placing in the Top 3 on the final lap in each course completes the circuit. Other settings include level of difficulty in racing: Beginner, Expert, Master, etc. I consider this game to be slightly above average in terms of playability, fun, and replay value. One definite downside is that it is a one-player game. It would have been better if it had been released with 2P capabilities. F-Zero is worth looking into if racing games are your thing.

5CLASSIC, FUNJun 03, 2007
By Steve "Ugh, College"
One of the first game ever for the Super Nintendo. If you was born after 1985...than the you missed out on the NINTENDO/SUPER NINTENDO ERA. Believe me, After playing Atari's Pole Position and then Nintendo's RAD RACER....F-ZERO is a whole new way of racing. The colors, the music, the fun factor is GREAT, being in the early 90's...Kids cut school to Play F-ZERO. Classic game...collectors item!

5The perfect example of Mode 7Dec 05, 2010
By SMB Madman
F-Zero is known for showing off the Super Nintendo's extremely graphically impressive Mode 7 technology, which was beating off the Genesis's so-called Blast Processing.

You select from 3 cups (Or in this case, Leagues), each with five futuristic courses.

You start with 3 lives. If your car explodes, you will lose one.

Each of the tracks sort of have their own gimmicks, most notably Death Wind, mines, and ramps.

Once you cross the finish line, you can use an extra boost that you earn every time there.

If you are losing health, be sure to steer towards a healing area.

All of the gameplay would most likely resemble Super Mario Kart's gameplay, but this game came out right before it.
