3It's close, but not quiteJun 24, 2009

The description says it is the same shape and it is for the most part, however it is quite a bit smaller. Feels cheaper than the original. But it works and where else are you going to find a NEW controller for a Sega Genesis. I gave it 3 stars because it's not as good as the original Genesis controller, but it does what it's supposed to and you should be satisfied if you purchase it. I also rated this item lower because the cord is more like 5 feet long, not six.

4Not quite the original, but works!May 05, 2012

I ordered 2 of these for my Genesis. They dont feel quite as sturdy as the originals, and are cheaply made. The A, B, C, X, Y, and Z buttons are loose and rattle a bit when you shake the controller, but do not fall out, and work nicely. They feel good when depressed, and have a bit of an audible feedback (A light, soft, clicking sound... youll know what I mean when you get one for yourself, it kinda sounds nice). The D-Pad works, but I recommend putting your thumb more towards the center of the D-Pad and using it as more of an analog stick then an 8 way D-Pad, as its kind of hard to hit each direction the right way. The MODE button is pretty hard to press, and I still havent figured out what its for. If anyone knows, please let me know in the comments. Overall, its a good replacement, but nothing quite matches the original controller. Thats not to say this ones worse, it just doesnt have the original feel. Oh, also I must mention, its also lighter then the original.

EDIT: I just found out, the mode button is used for setting the controller to act like the original 3-button controller for games that use it. To do this, you must first insert a cartridge into the Genesis, hold the mode button down, turn on the Genesis, wait for the game to load its main menu screen, then finally let go. The controller should now be in 3-button mode. Also, Ive heard that some games actually use the mode button as an in game action, but very few do so.

1Cheap substitute for Sega game padsMar 16, 2012

One of the Innovations Sega Genesis game pads movement controllers broke off after just 3 months of use.
The movement controller is no where as precise as the original game pads that were manufactured by Sega and I do NOT recommend the Innovations cheap imitation for purchase.
