52nd best tennis game ever!Sep 20, 2007
By J. Aguilar
I CAN'T BELIEVE NOBODY HAS WRITTEN A REVIEW ABOUT THIS GAME!I HAVE PLAYED EVERY SINGLE TENNIS GAME OUT THERE FOR XBOX,PS,PS2,SEGA GENESIS,DREAMCAST,GAMECUBE YOU NAME IT I HAVE PLAYED IT.AND I HAVE FOUND ONLY ONE TENNIS GAME THAT IS BETTER THAN SUPER TENNIS AND THATS SMASHCOURT TENNIS 2.AND THAT ONLY GETS THE EDGE CAUSE OF BETTER GRAPHICS.SUPER TENNIS MIGHT BE MORE FUN TO PLAY THAN SMASHCOURT TENNIS.I HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS PLAYING THIS WITH FRIENDS WHO DIDNT EVEN LIKE TENNIS.THATS HOW GOOD THIS GAME IS.ITS SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY.I HAD RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED SUPER NINTENDO JUST SO I WOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY SUPER TENNIS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.I SPEND MOST OF MY TIME PLAYING SMASHCOURT TENNIS 2 NOW.BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN I GO BACK TO PLAYING SUPER TENNIS.THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE FOR TENNIS FANS.

4An excellent tennis title for an excellent system!Jan 02, 2012

Often you find a very cheap game for an old system that turns out to be extremely fun (Gradius III, anyone?). I bought this little gem at a local flea market in its original box, for 3 dollars. For that price, I didn't expect much, but I can definitely say that I'm pleased with this game. It's very addicting, and I don't regret buying it at all.

The game includes three modes, Singles (which is either 1p vs. Com. or 1p vs. 2p), Doubles (same idea but with an extra character), and Circuit. Circuit mode allows you to travel the globe in a sort of campaign-style tournament. All of these modes are fun, and it's nice to have the variety of choosing a different mode every time. My only complain is that the circuit mode lacks a save feature (it relies on passwords) but this can't be a huge complaint against an early SNES title.

The gameplay is tricky and at first will take a small amount of time to get used to. In fact, it wasn't until the second time that I played the game that I truly enjoyed it. I have only minor complaint of the gameplay. Your character moves extremely slow, and although the idea of tennis is to make the opponent unable to reach the ball, I often feel that I simply missed because my character is lagging behind so much in terms of footpower. Still, this forces the player to develop strategy, which makes the game even better. Learning when to use certain swings and serves can really determine the outcome of the match.

Overall, this game is very fun and VERY CHEAP! I recommend this game to anyone, even people who don't usually play sports games. Have a friend over and try it out, you certainly won't be disappointed. But, for a penny, how can you be?

If you are in to tennis this is a great game to own for the Super Nintendo. A little hard to get the hang of at first, but very intertaining.

I used to own this game back in the day and it was a decent game, but nothing special. considering how cheap this game is 1 penny it is worth a purchase if you wan to play a tennis game on the snes as there were not many.
